Why Thousand Oaks Residents Need a Heart Sound Recorder

Our Duben Holistic Chiropractic Center in Thousand Oaks is proud to offer a Heart Sound Recorder for our clients. This recorder can give you a new understanding of your health and help you take control of your physical wellbeing.

We put together this information to help you understand the sounds your heart makes and why a recorder is right for you.

Understanding the Basics of Heart Sound

Your heart makes many different sounds while it beats. Knowing how these sounds work can help you understand your own cardiovascular health. If you would like more detailed information about the sounds your heart makes and your health, you can always ask your chiropractor. Here are the basics about heart sounds:

  • Rate - Rate measures how fast or slow your heart is beating. The ideal resting range for your heart is 60 to 80 beats per minute. This means that while your body is at rest, your heart should be beating within this range. Heart rates that are either slower or faster can be a sign of poor health.
  • Rhythm - Rhythm indicates how regular your heartbeats are. There are two types of heartbeat known popularly as “lub” and “dub” and to holistic professionals as “S1” and “S2.” If you have a healthy rhythm, your heart should be resting twice as often as it's working. You can see this on a graph provided by your heart sound recorder.
  • Tone - Tone indicates how hard your heart is working. The louder the tone, the harder the heart is working. A strong tone is completely normal when the heart is active, such as during exercise, but can be a sign of inefficiency if it shows up during rest.

What a Heart Sound Recorder Does for You

A Heart Sound Recorder will give you InSite into how efficiently your heart performs while you're at rest and while your heart is pumping hard.
