Applied Kinesiology (AK) in Thousand Oaks

Consider these statements

"You don't have to put up with allergies or other chronic complaints."
"Older people do not have to live with pain just because they're older."
"Prescription drugs can be optional."

What if they were true? The same innate ability that heals a cut finger is available to any process in your body. When activated, your overall health and well being improves and you can live life with more ease and less discomfort. It's all possible with Applied Kinesiology.

What exactly is Applied Kinesiology (AK)?

Kinesiology is the study of movement. Just as your computer responds when you press certain keys, your kinesiologist gets a response by pressing "keys" on your body. The response tells him how the various organs in your body are functioning. This technique, commonly known as "muscle testing", is a simple, safe way to communicate with your body. It is used to diagnose the structural, chemical/nutritional or mental/emotional imbalances that are creating your symptoms and causing problems.

Using a combination of traditional philosophy and contemporary technology your AK doctor then treats those causes, rather than just getting rid of symptoms. This is a form of holistic medicine that lays the foundation for your ongoing good health.

Where it all started

Applied Kinesiology was born in the 1960's when Dr. George Goodheart found a weakened muscle on his Standards Process delivery person. (Standard Process is a whole food supplement company still used by many AK doctors). After pushing on sore spots in the muscle it was weak, but only on one side of the body. Intrigued by this simple fact, he began investigating the relationship between the acupuncture meridians, the organs of the body, and the muscles. From there he went on to develop what we now know as Applied Kinesiology.
